Job Requirements for Our Internet Installer Position

 

We are seeking a full-time skilled and reliable Internet Installer to join our team. As an Internet Installer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our customers receive fast, reliable, and high-quality internet services. Below are the key requirements for this position. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure internet service equipment at customer locations. 
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain internet-related hardware and systems. 
  • Provide customers with technical support and guide them on how to use internet equipment effectively. 
  • Ensure proper wiring and network setup according to company standards and customers needs. 
  • Perform quality checks after installation to verify system functionality and performance. 
  • Maintain accurate records of installations and service calls. 
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines when working with electrical equipment.
  • Communicate with the customer to ensure their satisfaction and resolve any installation-related concerns.  

Job Requirements:

  1. Experience:
    Previous experience in internet installation, telecommunications, or IT support is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for candidates with a strong technical aptitude.
  2. Technical Skills:
    Understanding of networking equipment (routers, fiber modules, switches) and internet connectivity. Ability to troubleshoot basic networking issues and perform system configurations. 
  3. Physical Requirements:
    Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (e.g., equipment, tools, etc.). Comfortable working in various environments, weather climates, including residential and business settings. Must be able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces as needed. 
  4. Customer Service Skills:
    Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and explain technical concepts in simple terms. Professional and friendly demeanor when addressing customer questions or concerns.
  5. Attention to Detail:
    Ability to follow detailed installation guidelines and ensure all equipment is set up to industry standards.
  6. Problem-Solving Abilities:
    Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently. 
  7. Driving Requirements:
    A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required, as you may be responsible for driving to various installation sites. 
  8. Flexibility and Availability:
    Willingness to work flexible hours, including some Saturdays if necessary, on-call shifts, as required by customer demand. 
  9. Background Check:
    Successful completion of a background check may be required before starting employment. 

 

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

  • Certification in networking or related fields (e.g., CompTIA Network+ or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with IP addressing, DNS, and basic network security practices.
